Someone’s Trash, could be your Treasure!

This is definitely not the type of posts that you find on my blog, but I thought that it would be nice to share. So if you know me you would know that there is nothing as good as an Awesome Bargain. I love searching and finding those gems that are a fraction of the price of what I would originally pay.
Let me put it out there I buy and sell things on Gumtree all the time. I don’t know what I would do without it. For years I've been selling my University Textbook and even purchasing some books in good condition for half of what I would have if I had to purchase it brand new. Quite a while ago, I did some spring cleaning and ended up bagging all my unwanted clothing, I went onto Gumtree and sold the whole bag in one go. But I do know of people that are rather weary of buying or selling on gumtree, or let me say online instead. So seeing that I've done it safely quite a few time, I want to share some tips with you.

Tips for buying on Gumtree & keeping safe:
-Make sure that the post at-least looks legit. There are loads of fraudsters trying to con people not just on Gumtree but on majority of various online platforms. Make sure that the post has enough detail for you to go on.
-Don’t meet anyone alone or in an isolated place. Meeting at the mall is a good place to start, as there is usually security and loads of people around. Whenever I sell a textbook or an item I usually advise the person to come to my work which is code for loads of security at the entrance.
- PS: Trust your gut, it is usually right. When you feel uncomfortable or the person looks or seems dodgy, take note you are probably right. Take someone with you it will make you feel more secure.
-Confirm the price beforehand, and advise that it’s non negotiable before meeting the person. Arguing and conversing about the price when meeting is a no go. You want to process to go smooth and seamless when you meet.
-Make sure that the picture of the item that’s loaded is what you will be receiving, ask and double check. As at times generic pictures are loaded that does not show the exact item that you will be buying merely a representation.

If you cover your bases, you will be perfectly fine when purchasing on Gumtree!
Ill share some of the product on Gumtree that's on my wish list:

Blackcherry Clutch

I have been super quiet this weekend on social media as I spent the time in Langebaan with family and there were no signal in sight. I think that is one of the worst things that can happen to blogger when I came fully prepped with my Laptop & Ipad to do some blogging and catch up on some admin.
So over the weekend we stayed at this place called Waschklip, on the outskirts of Langebaan and there were the most beautiful locations and landscapes. It was quiet warm so I lived in shorts and kimonos such an easy essential to wear this summer. You will see me doing quite a few Kimono posts as it’s my go to item of the season.

So most of you saw me tweeting about how much I’m in love with this Blackcherry clutch, it’s not an ordinary clutch as you can actual fit stuff into it.
I mean I can get my phone in there, some lip glosses, my digital camera etc. The fact it’s a bit bigger than normal clutches makes all the difference in the world, so I paired it with a printed Kimono.

Shorts: Cannot remember, I have it for ages
Sandals: Mr Price
Kimono: Foschini
Bag: Blackcherry Handbags

Style Bar: Transformation

So for last couple of months I've been going back and forth with my hair. So let me give you a bit of history. I've gone from dark hair, to red hair to blonde hair, then back to black, then brunette and then back to blonde. It always just seem to go back to blonde. These are a few of the questions I often receive: Why do you want to go blonde? Isn't your hair getting damaged? How demanding is the maintenance to your hair? The thing is that I don’t always have the answers to the questions I get asked. So I've been blonde for about 8 months now and touching up my roots has been a nightmare. I've been to various hair salons, but I end up getting a colour that I don’t want or my roots are not a consistent shade to the rest of my head. Before I would start the hair stylist would promise me the perfect shade and then at the end would not be able to deliver. So for the past 2 months I have not touched up my roots, due the shock of not knowing what I’ll end up with. So after having people endlessly asking me, when I’ll be doing my roots I knew that it was time to jump on to the wagon once again.

I booked my appointment with The Style Bar as I had been there previously with a media launch of the Schwarzkopf Bonacure Range. Click here to see post.
I arrived at the Style Bar in Tygervalley Centre on an early Sunday morning. My hairstylist and I had started out with a consultation where we literally sat down and discussed exactly what I wanted with regards to colour and what I wanted to achieve with my hair.
After we had established what I wanted my stylist jumped right in.
PS: Let me warn you some fun facial expressions will appear.
She decided to only colour my roots and not my whole head to minimize damage. After that she applied a toner to neutralize the colour and to avoid the yellow gold-ish undertone. After the toner was rinsed off, I received a lovely head massage.
PS: that was such an absolute treat.

PS: that was such an absolute treat.
What I loved even more is that they used BC Schwarzkopf range on my hair. Its products that I’m already using. So that was an extra + for me.
I was absolutely trilled when I saw how my hair has turned out. It was was the perfect shade that I had wanted and even after the colour my hair was so soft and silky.
After I had left that salon, I went out to show off my gorgeous tresses.
I will conclude in saying that this is the first time that I am completely satisfied with how my hair has turned out. The level of professionalism and hospitality that was shown when visited the Style Bar is remarkable. I'm loving the amount of compliments i'm getting about the new colour and I've been told that its suits me so well.

Visit the Style Bar site to find a salon near you. I highly recommend you do! You can also follow them on Twitter and like them on Facebook.
Thank You Style Bar for making me love my hair again, see you soon xx
PS: This service was supplied by Style Bar. I have not received compensation for this post and all opinions on the service is my own.

I was excited to have been invited to a Woman’s Breakfast compliments of Real Woman Magazine at V&A Waterfront.
It was a rather humid and hot day and as we arrived we were welcomed with a delicious strawberry crushed smoothie, very refreshing. We then met Pastor Meg who is the Ceo of the Real Woman Christian Magazine. It was really amazing to sit around a table and talk to fellow woman over a lovely breakfast.
Meet the "Real Woman Magazine Team" & below i'm with Magazines Events Coordinator Sanelisiwe Sokhela.
Some of the objectives of the Magazine were:
-To assist the community through developing capacity with skills developing programs
-To empower woman through skills so that they can be self employed
-Rural development is a chief objective for the magazine
-Poverty eradication & helping the less privileged

After leaving the event, I went through the magazine and found some really informative articles on Marriage, relationships and some really inspirational & motivational pieces. The Magazine is available quarterly and can be purchases nationwide from any CNA store.

So last week I was invited to attend a Disaronno launch event which was an exclusive unveiling of the new Disaronno Wears Versace limited edition bottle. The world’s favourite Italian liqueur will be back on Christmas wish lists this year with a glamorous new look, designed by Versace. The luxury fashion house has dressed the iconic bottle in the decadent style for which it has earned its reputation worldwide. The unveiling took place on a beautiful rooftop location on 71 Waterkant, Cape Town.
" Raylene of Scarlet Aura, Crystal of Be Fab Be You, Myself and Anja of Glitz and Grammar."

The DISARONNO wears VERSACE design takes its inspiration from the Versace Home Collection. The striking bottle will be draped in light blue and embellished with an opulent white and gold motif. This stylish drinks cabinet addition is the perfect gift for all fashion lovers this winter.
Augusto Reina, CEO of ILLVA Saronno commented on the collaboration: “For the second year running we are so proud to be partnering with another of the world’s finest Italian fashion houses. To be able to include Moschino and Versace amongst our list of collaborators is a real honour.”
What is even more amazing is that the project supports the charity ‘Fashion 4 Development,’ sponsored by the United Nations. DISARONNO will once again donate part of the proceeds towards the development of this unique project in Africa.

The night was filled with meeting and greeting fellow bloggers and friends and even meeting loads of new people. All in all a great chilled evening.

Each of the guest received a bottle to take home, mine will not be drank rather it will be admired for its beautiful and striking Versace design.

#FashionPassion2014 Event

So this Saturday afternoon pass I attended the #FashionPassion2014 event in V&A Waterfront. We were greeted with name tags and directed to the Foxbox bar in order to get our nails done. The polish I got was amazing hence; I won’t be showing you the upclose picture in this post. I’ll be doing a separate mini post as I think that this particular polish colour is so HOT for summer right now.
Anyway back to the event, we received these juice bottles called The Skinny Juice Co, and I was very impressed with the taste, my flavor contained sweet potato, apples, pears and a few other things. But was delish! Really want to try some of the other flavours.
We were treated to a mini fashion show to kick start the Fashion Passion Event
We were then introduced to a panel which included bloggers like SimplySiyaam & FashionistaCT aswell as the Vada sisters they talked about blogging, fashion, trends, brands and designers.
Few of the things that were really informative were how to deal with brands that approach bloggers and how to stay true to the look and feel of your personal style and blog.

When all the discussions and questions were concluded we were free to take pictures at the photobooth and mingle with fellow bloggers.

Trust that next years event will be bigger and better!

Tomy Takkies turns 50

So if you read my blog, you would know that I love Tomy Takkies. I own quiet a few pairs and I simply enjoy wearing them with a cute dress or a easy pair of boyfriend denims. But what I didn't know what that Tomy Takkies has been around for 50 years!
So the Tomy Team has come up with this super cool concept of designing your own Tomy, so let me just give you a heads up, i'm not a designer and i'm not good at drawing either. I have faith in the Tomy Team that that they will bring us the hottest style Tomy's Takkies year after year.
But either way I thought ill give it a try. I know my drawing skills is looking rather rough he he I just couldn't decide if I wanted to add more or less. I just ended up adding more and more.
But never the less I don't think anyone else would have my design, so that makes it unique and a limited edition lol

My design is probably not world class or the winning concept, but it sure was loads of fun. Made me feel like a kid in a candy shop.
If you to want to design your own Tomy Takkies to enter, download and print the paper template here:

Draw and get creative with your designing. Then cut and glue your design together.Take a great picture of your paper Tomy Takkies, and upload it here:
