Do you have oily skin?

Everyone that knows me knows that I struggle with extremely oily skin. My face is usually a massive shine ball before we have even hit 12 o'clock. Don't get me wrong there are loads of great benefits to having oily skin. Sebum (oil) can be bothersome at times, but it is actually good for your skin’s health. It has been reported that oily skin types actually age slower than other skin types because of its natural moisturizing effects and the antioxidant properties of the sebum. Win in some ways is a massive win if you think about it. But truth be told, while we all are wanting desperately to age gracefully we also wanna look great now and not having fill a jar of oil while we at it.
So for the past couple of weeks I had the opportunity to try out the Oh So Heavenly Bye- Bye Shine range. Let me start of by saying that I was really skeptical with regards to whether it was gonna work. I mean I usually I don't expect much from skincare products that are affordable. Wow that statement sounds rather dumb when I read it again? We usually expect the expensive, high end products to do the job better. But boy oh boy did these products impress me.
So I started of the process by washing my face with the face wash enriched with Aloe Vera & Grapeseed Extracts to cleanse the skin & remove excess oil. I then proceeded to spritz on the facial toner it remove excess oil, tone & soothe skin. While I waited for the product sink into my skin and dry up & the lathered on the day cream. Can I just point out that this day cream is just bomb! It has a SPF15 included and controls oil and leave a beautiful matte finish. Before I started applying my usual foundation my skin was completely matte and had minimal shine but was not at all tight which I have experience before when using oil control products.
I've been using this routine for a while and even throughout the day my foundation just stays on for much longer. We all know the only Shine you do want is your HIGHLIGHTER popping, not your T-zone!

If you keen to try out the Oh So Heavenly Bye-Bye shine range it is available at Clicks stores, you can also check out the website: http://ohsoheavenly.co.za/ which you can find all of there available products.

Review: Le Pommier Wine Estate

So this past weekend we got the opportunity to book a weekend away with AFRISTAY to Le Pommier wine estate. It really was a story book breakaway experience! Le Pommier is an intimate country lodge situated in the Cape Winelands. There are 6 suites, 7 country rooms and 2 self-catering units in typical luxury country house style and comfort. The ideal setting for relaxation, the lodge is situated in a tranquil environment amongst the vineyards of the Cape.
The room we stayed in is part of their luxury suites overlooking a beautiful dam-setting. Each with their own bathroom and lounge area, gas fireplace, air conditioning, TV & DSTV hotel bouquet and overlooking the breath-taking mountains of the Banhoek Valley.
We also had the opportunity to have breakfast at Le Pommier Restaurant which is included in the package when you stay over! Mid afternoon we then decided to do some wine tasting. We got to experience the taste of Le Pommier through their easy drinking wines. If you keen to try it out, it actually cost R30 to taste 4 wines!
We arrived the Friday evening to the most loveliest cheese platter & Red wine set up in our room as a welcoming gift from Le Pommier it really was such a special treat!
I must say that the gas fire place was one of my absolute favourites. It is perfectly located along side the bed. The weather was really gloomy with the occasional downpour. But not to worry the fireplace, paired with a good series and the cosy bed was such a great combo which made staying indoors such an absolute pleasure!
Le Pommier is located on Helshoogte Pass (R310), the main route between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and the perfect base from which to explore this unique and most breathtaking region.
  • -6 min from Stellenbosch
  • -15 Min from Paarl & Franschhoek
  • -35 Min from Cape Town International Airport
If you are keen to get away and book a stay. Do visit AFRISTAYAfristay has grown to become one of South Africa's largest accommodation portals. They have 22,000 listings across the whole of South Africa on Afristay.com I found the booking process to be such a breeze and the endless options available so refreshing!

Review: Ohana Beauty & Wellness Spa

So for the past couple of months I have been extremely busy with exams and work. As soon as I wrote my final exam I was so keen to unwind and have a little bit of me time and what better way to unwind than with a full body massage & a rejuvenating facial. Ohana Beauty & Wellness Spa is situated at 36 Wood Drive Table View, Cape Town & is really the perfect location to relax and get away from life's stressful elements.
Even though I visited the Spa specifically for a massage & facial, that is definitely not all that they do. They do everything from manicures, pedicures, gel overlays, acrylics, waxes, microneedling/dermapen and much more. The massage I received was absolutely spectacular and I promise I was still in absolute awe thereafter. The facial I received was just as bliss. The spa uses great quality products and it really is evident in the results. I have really oily skin which is prone to break outs. My skins texture felt amazing after the facial & I will definitely be going back. The spa used products from the Exuviance range, which is widely recognized around the world as leaders in the field of cosmetic dermatology.
