Review: Le Pommier Wine Estate

So this past weekend we got the opportunity to book a weekend away with AFRISTAY to Le Pommier wine estate. It really was a story book breakaway experience! Le Pommier is an intimate country lodge situated in the Cape Winelands. There are 6 suites, 7 country rooms and 2 self-catering units in typical luxury country house style and comfort. The ideal setting for relaxation, the lodge is situated in a tranquil environment amongst the vineyards of the Cape.
The room we stayed in is part of their luxury suites overlooking a beautiful dam-setting. Each with their own bathroom and lounge area, gas fireplace, air conditioning, TV & DSTV hotel bouquet and overlooking the breath-taking mountains of the Banhoek Valley.
We also had the opportunity to have breakfast at Le Pommier Restaurant which is included in the package when you stay over! Mid afternoon we then decided to do some wine tasting. We got to experience the taste of Le Pommier through their easy drinking wines. If you keen to try it out, it actually cost R30 to taste 4 wines!
We arrived the Friday evening to the most loveliest cheese platter & Red wine set up in our room as a welcoming gift from Le Pommier it really was such a special treat!
I must say that the gas fire place was one of my absolute favourites. It is perfectly located along side the bed. The weather was really gloomy with the occasional downpour. But not to worry the fireplace, paired with a good series and the cosy bed was such a great combo which made staying indoors such an absolute pleasure!
Le Pommier is located on Helshoogte Pass (R310), the main route between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and the perfect base from which to explore this unique and most breathtaking region.
  • -6 min from Stellenbosch
  • -15 Min from Paarl & Franschhoek
  • -35 Min from Cape Town International Airport
